Why I’m Running for Rohnert Park City Council
Rohnert Park is more than where I live; it’s home. It’s where my husband, Daniel, grew up, and when given the choice, where we chose to build our future.
Over the past several months, I’ve spent time listening to neighbors, attending meetings, and reflecting on the direction of our city. One thing has become clear: many residents feel disconnected from City Hall and unheard when important decisions are being made. Like many residents, I was frustrated by the lack of communication and responsiveness surrounding major community concerns, which reinforced my belief that local government works best when leadership is visible, accessible, transparent, and engaged with the community year-round, not just during election season.
Professionally, I bring more than 20 years of leadership experience in managing operations, budgets, and strategic partnerships, and in solving complex problems across large organizations. My career has required balancing competing priorities, making data-driven decisions, building consensus among diverse stakeholders, and ensuring accountability — all essential skills for effective city leadership. I understand the importance of long-term planning, fiscal responsibility, transparent communication, and delivering practical results that improve people’s everyday lives.
As a Realtor serving Sonoma County, I also see firsthand the challenges facing working families, seniors, and first-time homebuyers. Housing affordability, infrastructure, traffic, public safety, and thoughtful growth are not abstract policy discussions; they directly impact our community every day. That perspective has strengthened my commitment to helping Rohnert Park grow in a way that remains financially sustainable, connected, and focused on residents' needs.
I’m not running because I think I have all the answers. I’m running because I believe our city government should work more collaboratively with the people it serves. Rohnert Park has tremendous potential, and the decisions we make today will shape our community for decades to come. I want to help ensure that the future is transparent, inclusive, fiscally responsible, and centered on the needs of the community through leadership that listens, engages, and communicates openly.
I’m excited for the conversations ahead, and I hope you’ll join me in building a stronger, more connected Rohnert Park.
